October brought a new Account Executive of Business Success to SRSI, David Halker. Halker is from Wisconsin, studied Business and Engineering at the University of Florida, and brings over 30 years of industry experience to the team. This experience spans across companies including Siemens, Crisplant and Vanderlande as he progressed. Dave has come a long way and is about to add an incredible amount of value to the SRSI mission.
“I have a real passion for technology – especially emerging technology. I get excited about technology that helps customers improve their business,” Dave says. His passion for the material handling industry stems from this technical part of his job.
As Halker watched SRSI’s growth unfold and progress, CEO, Ben York, and VP of Sales, Jovan Bjelobrk, saw a perfect opportunity for Dave to add value to the company’s efforts. Dave’s onboarding was mutually beneficial for both parties, especially in the aspect of sortation systems. He spent a significant amount of his career delivering high-speed unit sortation systems, and while Dave does not prefer to be pigeon-holed into one area of expertise, he knows there is a tremendous amount of order fulfillment within the realm of sortation systems. Halker has an immense amount of connections and experience to provide a new dimension to SRSI and open many doors for opportunity.
“I’m most excited about the talented team that surrounds me- really amazing talent with technical expertise.” Halker adds, “there are a lot of integrators out there and a lot of people who call themselves integrators, but it amounts to the people and that is what makes SRSI stand out.” Dave’s goal at SRSI is to make an impact of helping the company be more successful, nourish new customer relationships, and supplement continued success and growth.

With the presence of COVID-19 this year, many people have acquired new hobbies, activities, and norms. For Dave, he was able to continue living out his passion of flying model airplanes. He also loves the Florida Gators and Green Bay Packers. Dave fits in great with the SRSI community and everyone is eager for the experience he will add to the team’s effort.
